This week was amazing in the beginning of starting to crochet my flower, but something unexpectedly happened in the process. The struggle I experienced this week was running out of yarn during the process of crocheting the flower pattern. I think next time I will be more prepared so I won’t go through this again. At home, crocheted the rest to finish. I tied a knot to the yarn that was hanging from the flower petal to attach it, so I could continue on the stitch I was on. to Honestly this week was really easy as the instructions were really clear the video, and I loved how is was turning out throughout the hour. Next week I will be working on an Amigurumi octopus. But I will add the middle part to the flower because I have only done the petals so far, and had many strings on the hook to keep track of when to pull and to also get a new string, and or stitch. I may attach also a stem and leaves to make it nice and so I may learn another stitch. Also add safety eyes and use the threading needle to that. My favorite room in my home is the bedroom I share. First off, a reason I like the bedroom I share is that I have a desk with stationary and also a lamp. My desk provides a quiet space for me to work and so I do not get distracted. Another reason why the bedroom is my favorite room to be in is because, I have a window near my desk so I don’t easily get overheated. In conclusion, I focus more when I am alone, and more work gets done in the process of being focused. These three reasons is why my favorite room in my house is the bedroom I share.

This week I watched a video on how to make a tiny ghost and a small brown bear. This week was amazing and actually I learned how to double crochet. This week I did not struggle. Because I forgot my tools, I continued my project at home. I crocheted a ghost at home. It was not hard at all. I used a stitch markers to help mark the points where I started and ended. A sewing needle was used in the process. This helped add detail to my work, the ghost, which was to add blush to it. Next week I will be making a pink flower, and if I finish, I will crochet an ice cream, probably not, or a turtle. A turtle likely would take an hour or so. I will likely make a mini flower, if I have leftover time to crochet in the spare time if possible. Thank you for reading my blog see you next week!

On a late afternoon Friday, my parents decided we should go somewhere relaxing for the weekend. Palm Springs! Supposedly they wanted to go last week, but they didn’t have time that week. We packed our necessities and essentials. If I had know about where we were going earlier I would have went to the store to get snacks. It was too late anyway. I wished my mom and dad told my sister in the morning, ahead of time. She takes forever to get ready. I was ready to leave, so I settled down at the dinner table and waited for my family to come downstairs. I heard the sound of my sister coming down the stairs, which felt like forever. My parents said, “Come on we are going to be stuck in traffic!” And off we went. Short story, we ended up in traffic anyway. Even though we left early, it didn’t change anything. Vroom! I always feel really car sick whenever I went I go on a car trip. I rolled down the car window to let some fresh air in. This usually helps me not get car sick on road trips. To get to Palm Springs, it takes about an hour from Orange County to Palm Springs, but for us, it took us two hours to get to Palm Springs. We were going into the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. We arrived at night. I was so tired. My parents booked a hotel for only a night. Anyhow, I woke up, got ready, and we gathered our bags and headed down out of the hotel. The bags felt so heavy. Almost felt like the bags were filled with big rocks and nothing else but that. My family and I loaded our things into the car and drove up to go to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. While driving, it felt steep or that the car could suddenly stumble down anytime. I opened the car door and put on my blue sweater over my long sleeve. My sister didn’t really wear the right attire for the snow, good thing my mom got snow attire. Up we made our way to the aerial tramway. I was so excited to see some snow!! My mom and I said excited to each other, “I hope we can see snowfall!” When entering, I saw the temperature supposedly it was going to be up in the mountain station.We missed the one we were supposed to ride in, but it was ok. Walking down the line, I saw the open exit to line up for the aerial tramway. Once we walked to the line, my family and I walked in, so we could go see the snow. The person who was there asked us, “Would you guys like a photo together?” We responded in unison, “Yes please.” Off went the camera, Click! As we walked away, our rough shoes scraped the floor, making a sound of a rhythmic tapping noise. For a few minutes, I was thinking about what we would see up in the mountains, would it snow? Anyway, we were boarding soon, so in the meantime, I watched the tv in front of me. A few minutes later, they said to get ready to board. We soon started gathered around to board. Clunk! Clunk! The aerial tramway was making its way down here with people. The aerial tramway was hanged from the towers as it seemed to walk up the view of mountains leading to the mountain station. It was our turn to go, so up we went the wobbly route up. The side were rotating! I felt like it could fall since it was high up, and near these points, the towers. Almost like a jelly waiting to be sunken to the ground! Finally arriving after a solid 10 minutes. It was freezing cold. It started raining, so we got inside quite frantically, to the mountain station. Along we brought our bags carried onto our backs. We were hungry, I hadn’t ate much so my mom and dad said , “ Do you guys want food? It’s been quite a while.” Me and my sister said, “ Yes let’s go.” We caught site of food, and so we went. I saw pizza, so I asked my parents if we could have some, responding with a yes. Seeing the gooey cheesy pizza, we asked the server, with a slice server if my sister and I could have a slice of pizza. My dad also wanted a slice so we waited. Being ready to pay, my mom wanted something too, so she got a sandwich with veggies, cheese, and ham. We paid at the cash register, got napkins and sat down. All of us got full so we went outside. It started snowing! Oh my gosh! It got cold. We entered quickly inside. After eating and the weather calmed down, we went outside to walk in the snow left previous from earlier. We changed into warm clothes in the bathrooms, and walked down the steep small slopes getting more horizontal. After walking enough to get to the trail, we found a tree stump that looked like a big chair. We took photos sitting on it and looked around to see snow and my sister and I picked up the fluffy, cold, icy, snow forming into a round snowball. We had a snow fight. After, we ate some snacks on a bench and rested from having so much fun. Following the trail, trees covered in blobs of snow, we all walked along to another bridge and crossed to see a stream flowing down the bridge beneath us. Click! Click! It felt nice in the snow. Peaceful really. I looked up to the cloudy sky, seeing little star snowflakes. I had never seen such tiny ones. What a delightful day I had. My mom was so cheerful, since he hasn’t never seen snow fall ever. All of us so happy. It was really a wonderful moment we had experienced that day.

Hello, my name is Malenny, for my 20% project I am doing crocheting. This first week for my goal was to make a granny square. When I started working on the octopus and finished, I could make a tiny pumpkin. I did not accomplish my goal. When I started, it was easy in the first minute watching the tutorial on how to crochet a granny square. It was confusing at first in the beginning, but once I slowed down and followed along the tutorial, the granny square was coming together really nicely. To become better at crocheting, I will watch the tutorial first, then try to learn the pattern alone, until I have success and can do it on my own. Next week I will be working on crocheting a white mini ghost. In the meantime, I will work on stitches because I don’t really know many, except I can do a single crochet and chain stitch. There are so many people I would want to invite to dinner, but these are my top three. Savannah, Azzy, and Jasmine. Savannah is friend from 6th grade in core we became friends. I met Azzy in PE and became friends soon after! Jasmine is also from 6th grade core and later on became friends. I would invite Savannah because we would laugh a lot since we really have a lot of common interests. Top two, Azzy is another friend I’d invite to the dinner since all of us would maybe talk about things that have happened, since Azzy is entertaining to talk to. Last I would choose Jasmine because she is a lot like me, and we both like to chit chat a lot together most of my day I talk to her, more thank most people I’d talk to. For dinner we would drink lemonade before eating. For the food we would eat creamy Alfredo sauce covered on top the perfectly cooked al dente pasta, with shrimps covered with seasoning sizzling over the pasta on the plate. After that, for dessert, we would make some cookies. For the cookie, it would consist of a pumpkin cookie with white chocolate chips inside the cookies to give the texture, sweet, soft savory flavor of the cookie.

Going Dark-by Melissa De La Cruz – I have not finished reading this book yet; I am currently on page 171. This book is about a girl named Amelia Ashley and her boyfriend Josh. She posts blogs, but the last photo uploaded on her blog was a photo Josh had taken, her eating pistachio gelato. Head tipped back eyes closed, towards the sun. The go to Rome and she stays at someone’s house on this trip, but after Josh thought she was with her friends safe and sound, a dark turn came suddenly.

I like this book so far, it gives good energy, enthusiasm in the words and entertainment. The story starts off with Josh introducing himself, and soon in chapters the book is written in different perspectives form different characters in the book. Then later on in the chapters, it explains the friend she stayed with, or an influencer that wanted to collaborate with Amelia Ashley. The author gives you a glimpse of each character in each chapter, and with good description.

My favorite character is Amelia Ashley, and a character trait I would say she shows is creative. A quote to show the character trait is, “We stepped into a world that felt like it was on the cusp between life and death, teeming with its own heartbeat made of music and lungs made of bodies breathing the same musty air. It felt as if our every move were being followed by the watchful, gaping eyes of our hosts. I chose this quote because instead of saying We entered a place of dead bodies breathing the same air, she was descriptive of the surroundings around her.

My favorite quote is, “On campus, Josh felt all eyes on him, burning into the back of his skull like hot irons.” This quote is meaningful to me because the author used one of the figurative language. The author uses lots of figurative language in her book and it gives depth and structure to the sentences of this book.

If I could have any job in the entire world, I would be a marine biologist. I would like to feed the animals, and I have never had a pet to take care of. This would be an interesting job to do, like researching about an animal you’ve never heard of. An example of this could be a marine biologist finding a vaquita which is part of the porpoise family with only a few left. But it is rare to find a vaquita. They are endangered. A secondary reason would be learning also about plants, but like corals, they are animals and some species are more delicate than others because of how they are adapted. Some plants in the ocean is phytoplankton. This plant is a big part of many animals diet. Last of all, marine biologists work directly in the ocean to do work other than maybe a lab. Working directly on an ocean can also be fun as doing hand on things could be fulfilling instead of guess doing work all the time on the computer if marine biologists do so you get screen time off.

This month I read a book called We’ll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han. In the book We’ll Always Have Summer, this books talks about Susannah, the mother of Conrad Fisher, and Jeremiah Fisher. Two years after the incident which was initially introduced by the last book called It’s Not Summer Without You by Jenny Han, Jeremiah bends down a bended knee, to Belly Conklin, puts forward what her fairy tale dreaming Belly has always dreamed of. Not to be Belly Conklin, but be Belly Fisher. On the other hand, Jeremiah and Belly return to where they all spend their summers, most of the time, to Cousins Beach to plan out their wedding, Conrad goes to Belly to apologize what he did that broke her heart. Not deliberately, she has to confess her true feelings to both of them and resolve the conflict between Conrad and Jeremiah.

For this month, I read the book, We’ll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han. I would recommend you would read this book, Two books come before this one, first The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han, then the second book after is It’s Not Summer Without You by Jenny Han. In this book, you’ll mainly be reading about Belly Conklin, Conrad Fisher, Jeremiah Fisher, and many other characters. Belly Conklin has feeling for Conrad and Jeremiah, but she doesn’t want to break Jeremiah’s heart and says she’ll only be with him, but Conrad tells Belly how he honestly feels about her. Belly can’t process what to do and expresses her emotions about Jeremiah. Later on she feels sad and confused, but in the end she knows who in the end how she truly feels about Conrad and Jeremiah.

My favorite character in the book in Belly, and a character trait to show this is that she is honest. A quote to give an example is, “ I had clung like a barnacle all these years, and now I couldn’t cut away.” this shows that she couldn’t let go of Conrad, but also couldn’t just walk away from Jeremiah and leave no trace, she showed how she really felt about them.

My favorite quote in this book is, “ I stepped out of the dress, and it slipped to the floor, a silky white puddle.” I like how Jenny Han didn’t say, “ I stepped out of the dress and slipped to the floor to a puddle.” She was descriptive and said a silky, white puddle, giving a vision for the reader to see while reading the book to give a sentence more life and uplift a sentence, because be just being more descriptive in a story, you can really bring up your story, and give a sentimental perspective and a insight of the moment happing at the moment or point in the story.

The possibilities are endless when you are invisible for twenty-four hours! I would first make my bed, then go up to make breakfast for myself. While my parents would be sleeping, during breakfast, I would still be making breakfast if they enter the kitchen to scare them. They would be wondering why the pan is moving on it own the stove. I think my parents would try to put flour on me so they maybe would see what was going with the floating pan. Then I would go to the store myself but walk
To target and pick up my target pickup, then go home and sprinkle glitter on the floor to see who would find me and put post it’s around the house, to see if my parents would find me, eventually I would sprinkle flour on myself when someone finds me.
